The Scope of my Practice

I have a general practice, with a concentration in business and employment litigation, including trials, appellate proceedings and representing clients before various administrative and government agencies.

This includes practice before the Kentucky Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Circuit Court, the United States Supreme Court, Appeals Court, and District Court. Also, I practice before government agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Social Security Administration, Merit System Protection Board, and in Kentucky the Human Relations Commission, Personnel Board, Board of Claims, Unemployment Insurance Commission, and other federal and state agencies.

I also have over twenty-five years experience representing Kentucky clients in other areas of law and they include, but aren't limited to:

  • Family Law Matters
  • Child Custody Issues
  • Wills and Estates
  • Personal Injury Claims
  • Business Incorporation

I am licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Western District of Kentucky, Eastern District of Kentucky, and Kentucky Supreme Court.

Relevant Experience

It is incredibly valuable for any lawyer to have experiences that complement their understanding of the cases they handle. Often in disputes, it is important to have some first-hand experience into how opposing parties or key decision-makers are inclined to behave or to think. To have "walked in their shoes".

To that end, outside of my law practice I have been engaged or worked as:

  • An arbitrator
  • A speaker at seminars in Continuing Legal Education topics and for Human Resource departments on various topics of employment law
  • Chief spokesman experience in labor and employment matters
  • For a Fortune 500 Company: Negotiated and administered eleven labor agreements, plus, managed a variety of human resource and compensation issues, such as compliance procedures, benefits, hiring and grievance issues, labor practices and installed corporate human resource information systems.
  • An adjunct professor in Labor Relations (Indiana University Southeast).
